Step 1: Verify Your Eligibility

Step 2: What Are The Documents Required To Become an LIC Agent?
The documents below are required to apply for the LIC Agent Exam, along with the sponsorship form.

Step 3: Complete Your Training Successfully
You will be required to take the IC38 training program (both online at your convenience time or offline for 4 days at the LIC training center), which is for 25 hours.
This course covers the basics of life insurance, health insurance, documentation, financial planning, regulatory aspects, customer service, etc.
Step 4: Pass the IRDA Exam
This is the mandatory criterion for an LIC aspirant to get officially licensed. Pass the IRDA exam after training.

First, you need to go to the LIC official Website at licindia.in. This is your home base for ANYTHING that has to do with LIC!

After you are on the homepage, you should then search for the ‘Join Our Team’ button. Under it, there will be “Be an Agent (Individual)“.
Click on it and you are there.
Fill Out the Application Form
Click on the ‘Apply Now‘ tab which is under the job title. Register with your details such as your name, phone number email, education, etc. Pro tip: Always cross-check your information so that you do not experience any difficulties in the future!
Upload Your Documents
Time to gather your paperwork! Scan your Aadhar card, PAN card, your 10th standard mark sheet, and certificate, and some photographs.
OTP for Verification

Training Enrollment

How To Prepare for the IC 38 Exam?
Once you have completed the IC38 training program, you have to take a 1-hour online test. After completing 25 hours of training and taking adequate mock tests, you will find the actual test very simple. To do well on this test, make sure to study the training material thoroughly.
The IC38 training book is quite a voluminous document with 450 pages. You might take 2 weeks to study it. There are a few concise training materials available, along with mock tests to prepare quickly.
The mock tests help gauge your understanding of the subject. It helps you assess your readiness for the LIC exam.
What Is the IC 38 Examination Process?
IC 38 examination is a physical computer-based test held at the NSEIT Ltd Test Centre. It is a multiple-choice test with 4 options available for all the questions.
There will be no negative marking. To pass, the candidate has to get 18 answers correct out of 50. Your score of 17 out of 50 is considered a passing grade. You’ll get the score immediately after completing the test.
If you fail, you can reapply again at a cost of ₹502/-. There are no limits on the number of attempts.
Master Tip: Start with attempting questions that you are sure of, let’s say those are 10-12 questions. Next, since there is no negative marking, for the remaining questions, even if you answer them all as “c”, because of probability, you will at least get an additional 8-10 marks.
How long will it take to become a LIC agent?
It’s a quick process and a rewarding field. It takes only 3-4 weeks. During this period, you will complete mandatory IC 38 training, examination & onboarding process.
What Is The Onboarding Process of a Qualified Candidate?
After passing the exam, you should visit the concerned LIC office. Carry 6 passport-sized photos and canceled cheques for commission payouts.
You’ve to fill out another application form at the LIC office. Please note that you will receive an official appointment letter with an ID card.
